Emily O’Hara Ratajkowski was born on 7th June 1991 in Westminster, London. Her parents Kathleen Anne Balgley and John David “J.D.” Ratajkowski are both teachers. She was raised in Encinitas near San Diego, California. She has English, Irish, and German ancestry.
She was cast in some local theater productions as a child and teenager. At a young age, Ratajkowski was exposed to female nude figures in photography and art such as her father’s work and the photography of Helmut Newton and Herb Ritts, which prepared Ratajkowski for nude work.
