Anderson was born in 1988 in Edmonton, Alberta. She studied at Frances Kelsey Secondary School in Mill Bay, British Columbia. She obtained her degree in Fine Arts from York University and graduated magna cum laude in acting in 2011.
In 2014, Anderson joined the cast of the 2015 YTV/TeenNick series Open Heart portraying the character of Dr. London Blake, the elder sister of the main character. She was also featured on the web series MsLabelled. In 2016, Anderson got a role on the Nickelodeon series The Other Kingdom, portraying the Fairy Queen Titania, the main character’s mother.
Anderson also featured as Evie in The CW series No Tomorrow released in October 2016. In 2017, Anderson started playing the recurring role of Blake Crawford on the NBC television series Blindspot.
