Remi is one of Nigeria’s top photographers, Film producer, and a fashion/commercial Creative Director with some experience and background in New York City media.
Remi is the son of the famous and renowned Engineer Mrs. Mayen Adetiba. He spent the better part of his career in the advertising industry before switching to become a photographer and sometimes he directs photo shoots.
Educational Background
Remi initially studied as an Engineer at Hunter College, New York which according to him, he realized at some point that he wasn’t enjoying the idea and that was his mother’s dreams and not his. His mother Mrs. Mayen Adetiba who is a phenomenal engineer wanted her son to follow in her footsteps with the hope that it is the right path to secure a sustainable future. Remi however, had a different dream and he instead followed in the footsteps of his father who was a managing director of a big advertising agency.
He switched his major to Media Studies and the rest became history. Because of his passion for advertising, he went on to practice advertising for 8 years in New York. He went to work for a big brand in New York and it didn’t take long for his works to be noticed. He soon started getting calls from clients in New York and in Nigeria as well.

He is famous for one of the Africa Magic Entertainment reality television show where he participated as one of the judges. The show was television series that aimed at selecting Africa’s Next Top Model, and he made it as one of the judges due to his experience in the industry and sense of judgment. His works are also done internationally as he works with a top New York advertising industry where he assisted in online and offline identities of various brands which include: MTV, Amazon, Sony, The Financial Times, Beefeater Gin, Grooveshark, The Kanye West Foundation, Microsoft, Nivea, Seagram’s Gin, and W Hotels.
He also worked as a producer and a creative director for several shows and events. He is the mastermind behind the visual presentations of some notable recording artists like Nigeria’s own Bez and DaGrin to 2-time Grammy nominee Eric Roberson. At New York Times where he works, if he is not behind the camera then he is notably spearheading the digital marketing campaigns of the company.

Kemi was also part of the award-winning King of Boys where he worked as the producer. Because he already got a lot of experience working as a photographer and a creative director, his producing skill became evident in the Movie.
With his affluence at international and local levels, it is much easier for him to straddle the American and African markets. He has done some shooting with notable and prominent faces like Universe 2011 Leila Lopes, Victoria’s Secret / Sports Illustrated veteran model Oluchi, Emmy-winning journalist Mara Schiavocampo, and Afrobeat icon Femi Anikulapo-Kuti.
And in Nigeria, he has shot prominent celebrities like Banky W, Seyi Shay, Waje, Cobhams Asuquo, Nike Oshinowas, and so many other names. Back here in Nigeria, he exhibited at the Lagos Photo Festival where he played the role of Creative Director and Photographer.
Remi, amongst other top photographers in Nigeria, was nominated Photographer of the Year by the Jaguar Lagos Fashion Award, an event that was sponsored by one of the top international luxury car companies Jaguar. According to Remi, he said, “Being nominated for the award is one of the greatest moments of my life, and to have been nominated with such great photographers, the award could easily go to any of them.”
