Scarlett Ingrid Johansson was born on 22nd November 1984 with twin brother Hunter Johansson, in Manhattan, New York City to parents Karsten Olaf Johansson an architect, and Melanie Sloan, a producer. Her father was from Copenhagen, Denmark. Her paternal grandfather, Ejner Johansson, was an art historian, screenwriter, and film director, of Swedish descent. Johansson from her maternal side is of Polish and Russian descent. She has other siblings besides her twin brother; an older sister Venessa and an older brother Adrian. She also has an older half-brother, Christian from her father’s previous marriage. She has dual citizenship in both America and Denmark.
Johansson studied at PS 41, for her elementary education in Greenwich Village, Manhattan.
