Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan is a famous Indian actor, film producer, and television personality who works in Hindi films. Khan has been in Bollywood for more than 3 decades. He is a multiple award-winning actor and reportedly one of the most successful actors and influential actors in the Indian film industry.

Salman Khan Biography

Salman Khan was born on 27th December 1965 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. He is the eldest son of screenwriter Salim Khan with his first wife Sushila Charak. His father was Muslim while his mother practiced the Hindu religion as a result Khan was raised practicing both religions. In 1981, the actor’s father married actress Helen, making Khan and his sibling’s relationship grow hostile with their father, which only got mended years later. He has 2 brothers, Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan; and two sisters, Alvira Khan Agnihotri, and an adopted sister Arpita.

Khan attended The Scindia School in Gwalior for a few years before becoming a student at St. Stanislaus High School in Bandra, Mumbai. He then attended St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai before dropping out.

Career

Khan made his first film with a guest role in Biwi Ho To Aisi in 1988, a year later he had a breakthrough with Sooraj Barjatya’s blockbuster romance Maine Pyar Kiya. In the early 1990s, he was featured in films such as the action films Baaghi: A Rebel for Love and Patthar Ke Phool, and the romance Saajan which were all huge successes. Thereafter, Khan worked on many other top-grossing movies alongside top actors, directors, and producers.

He is also known to sing some soundtrack songs for movies like Hello Brother, Kick, Sultan and others.

In 1989, khan won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut, and in 1998 he won the same award for Best Supporting Actor. Khan received the National Film Award for Best Children’s Film for producing Chillar Party in 2011.
