Powell was born on October 21, 1988 in Austin, Texas.
He attended Westwood High School in northwest Austin, a part of the Round Rock Independent School District. Powell then went to the University of Texas, Austin.
Career
Powell started acting in 2003 by working alongside Antonio Banderas and Sylvester Stallone in Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over. Before his first year of college, Powell got a role in The Great Debaters, a film directed by and featuring Denzel Washington.
Powell moved from Texas to Los Angeles, following his relocation he starred in different television shows such as NCIS, CSI: Miami, and Scream Queens among others. He recently starred alongside Tom Cruise in the action film Top Gun: Maverick.
