Lateef spent the majority of his childhood days in Isolo. There he attended and completed his primary and secondary school education. He afterward, went on to obtain his Bachelor’s degree in Mass communication in 2007 from Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ogun State.
Lateef didn’t appear professionally in the entertainment industry until he was 21 years old and since then, he has enjoyed 13 years acting career featuring in over 100 Nigerian movies to date. He also did not take up many lead roles in the early stage of his career but when he did, he executed them with perfection. Like his first major role in ewande Adekoya’s 2013 movie titled “Kudi Klepto” where he gained his popularity.
He revealed that he locked himself up for three days just so he could learn the lines perfectly and this shows how serious and determined he can get. His unique acting style gained him several deals and currently, he is the brand ambassador of Airtel and Numatville Megacity.
Lateef produced a film title Oseregi in 2010. And in one of his interviews, he mentioned his biggest career achievement would be to work with Hollywood star Denzel Washington in the future. He also talked about his plans to own his own movie production outfit someday.
In the Early-stage of his career, he started as a scriptwriter and TV presenter on Orisun TV. There he worked as a scriptwriter for Community Life Project an NGO firm. The NGO Firm was known for tackling sexuality issues, Creating HIV/AIDS awareness and they were also involved in the Fight for Human Rights.
His job there was to help create contents that would be the message passed across to the general public. He also worked with UNICEF on a radio drama which was titled ‘Omo Catch Up’
He didn’t slow down at any point in his career as he soon after got an offer from the CEO of Orisun TV to spearhead a television program title SABABI which was aired for more than two years. His job for the TV station also extended to a talk show program titled Milliki Express of which he walked as the presenter.
