Iretiola Olusola Ayinke Doyle popularly referred to as Ireti Doyle is a Nigerian Actress, Television Presenter, Public Speaker, Entrepreneur, and Writer. Her career has spanned over two decades in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

Over the years Doyle has created extraordinary characters on Television shows as well as featured in remarkable movies. Many millennials grew up watching Doyle on our then black and white Televisions and she has stayed relevant and still in the business of giving us her all in her characters that even Generation-Z can ascertain to it. Growing Up And Education 

Doyle was born on May 3rd, 1967 in Ondo state, the western part of Nigeria, but she spent most of her formative years in Boston, USA. She started her primary education in Boston, then relocated back to Nigeria and went to Christ’s School Ado Ekiti for her secondary school education. After the completion of her secondary school, she went to the University of Jos, Plateau State where she got her diploma in Mass Communication and subsequently a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts. 

How Doyle’s Career Started.

Doyle’s acting career started while she was studying Theatre Arts at the University of Jos, at the time she intended to study the English language but she was given a Provisional admission to study theatre arts and she had every intention of switching back to the original course she applied for but in her first year she had a course titled Theatre Workshop which requires her to participate in a group or face having an extra year. She was nonchalant about it at first but ended up getting the lead role despite her auditioning late.

In 1990, she watched the movie “Mind-Bending” featuring the on-screen legend Joke Silva. Silva’s outstanding performance in the film captivates Doyle and she knows right away that acting is what she is meant to do. Her acting career started properly in 1995 during one of the Nigerian university strikes where she took advantage of the break and auditioned for a Television show titled “Riddles and Hope”.

Behind the professional scene, Ireti Doyle is a loving wife, doting mother, and grandmother. She is married to Patrick Doyle, a fellow veteran broadcaster and actor. The couple was rumored to be getting a divorce a few years back but they have made their way back to each other.

As a broadcaster, she produced and anchored her show which was a fashion and lifestyle called ” Oge with Iretiola” for a decade, the show was recently revived in 2019.
