The 22-year-old A.M.W. signee (Aloma Music Worldwide) is a Nigerian Afro hip-hop rapper. He was born and bred on the streets of Lagos. This artiste has amassed a very large crowd of followers on Instagram and YouTube, all thanks to his Instagram Rap Freestyle Skit. It is exactly these Instagram skits that brought him to the limelight in the music industry. Alongside with his childhood friend “Zinoleesky,” Lil Frosh dropped several music videos on Instagram. These videos mostly depicted the hardships and struggles of a typical middle/low born Nigerian.
Not only that, but he was also known for making music skits on the topic of ” Yahoo Yahoo.” In January 2019, Lil frosh dropped a music skit on Instagram titled “Firi Yahoo” which attracted the attention of many. Also includes notable music artistes such as Kiss Daniel and Small Doctor. The song was loved by many to the extent that it was remixed in April 2019, featuring Small Doctor this time.

Growing Up
Sanni Goriola Wasiu was born on the 13th of June 1998, Lagos State, Nigeria. Sanni Goriola, popularly known as Lil Frosh, grew up on the streets of Agege. It was from here that he had his primary and secondary school education. The data on the earliest years of Lil Frosh is really limited. However, from the observations that we made, the Instagram skits that the music artiste dropped right before he hit the limelight showed that Lil Frosh had a very tough childhood.
These music skits talked about the hardships encountered on the streets of Lagos and clearly suggest that Lil Frosh was well accustomed to these hardships. Not only that, the street slangs he always used in these skits showed that he was brought up in a ghetto way.
Lil Frosh had shown an interest in the music career way back during his secondary school days. According to what was learned from the astounding upcoming artiste, back then, he and his best friend, now known as “Zinoleesky,” would always engage in freestyle raps just to entertain themselves. Most of these raps were heavily laced with the Yoruba language, and even up to date, Lil frosh still raps with his native language.

Lil Frosh had both his primary and secondary school education in Agege, Lagos state. He attended Boys Secondary School located in Agege. It was here that he and his childhood friend “Zinoleesky” began their musical journey along with a couple of other unnamed classmates. Although there is a record that shows that Lil Frosh went to secondary school, there is none to show that he went to the tertiary institution.
How Lil Frosh’s Career Started
All thanks to social media, talents can now be spotted, and people can now be given a chance to pursue their dreams, especially if its in the entertainment industry. Lil Frosh’s official music career was actually Instagram inspired. As previously mentioned, right after secondary school, Lil frosh and his friend started dropping freestyle raps on Instagram. This Instagram rap group was tagged as “The Street Alte” and was a popular music skit group known on the mainstream of social media. For this reason alone, they required no record label to make their freestyle raps popular.
Lil Frosh was further inspired to continue his musical journey after Kiss Daniel liked one of his freestyle skits and started following him on Instagram. Not too long after, he dropped a freestyle skit on Instagram that earned him to be identified with the slang “Soito Folio Firi Yahoo.” This particular freestyle skit was so much liked by many that in April 2019, he dropped another music video on Firi Yahoo featuring Small doctor, an already known music artist.
However, the question now is, how did Lil Frosh become an established music artist that got signed under a record label?
Not too long after he dropped freestyle raps on Firi Yahoo, Lil Frosh made another music skit titled ” Davido” this music skit actually attracted the attention of popular music artiste named Davido, also tagged as “O.B.O..” On the 26th of October 2019, Davido publicly announced on his Twitter account that he was signing Lil Frosh directly under the record label of DMW/AMW. And so began the official music journey of Lil Frosh. Since his signing in, Lil Frosh has released a number of tracks and has been severally recognized for a couple of nominations both locally and internationally. Please note the Lil Frosh is no longer under the DMW label.

Even before he was officially recognized as a music artist in 2019, his Instagram video skits with ” The Street Alte” has already made him well known. As previously mentioned, it was actually his freestyles that mostly centered around the subject of Yahoo and his very popular slang “Soito Folio Firi Yahoo” that attracted a large number of followers to him on social media. Not long after he dropped the popular hit “Firi Yahoo” featuring Small Doctor, Lil Frosh went on to release another single titled ” Davido.” This single got the attention of many, including well-known artist Davido, who, in the month of October, signed him under the AMW/ DMW record label.

In the same year (2019), Lil Frosh was largely praised by many when he dropped his most popular hit ” 50 fifty” in December.

Within the space of a year, Lil Frosh has entered the “Artiste Top 40 Chart” (Afro hip hop), 18 total times. He entered not only that of Nigeria’s but also that of Kenya’s in the Kenya Artists Top 40 Chart.
This is to show that although the young artist hasn’t gotten any notable awards yet. he is already officially recognized in the local and international scene. There is simply no doubt that in the nearest future to come, a number of recognitions and awards would be awaiting this fascinating young artist.

It should be noted that there is no official list stating the current net worth of Lil Frosh. However, after the series of observations made, it was concluded that the current young artist’s net worth in the year 2020 is around $20,000.
