Letitia Michelle Wright was born on 31st October 1993 in Georgetown, Guyana. When she was seven years old her family left Guyana for London, England.
Wright studied at Northumberland Park Community School and Identify School of Acting.
Career
Wright started her career in 2011 with guest roles in the television series Top Boy, Coming Up, Chasing Shadows, Humans, Doctor Who, and Black Mirror. Before that, she performed in school plays, but she said her desire to be a professional actress happened after seeing the 2006 film Akeelah and the Bee. She was inspired by actress Keke Palmer’s performance in the movie. In 2012 She had a small role in the film My Brother the Devil, which earned her recognition by Screen International as one of its 2012 Stars of Tomorrow. Michael Caton-Jones cast Wright in her first leading role in Urban Hymn in 2015, which earned her entry into Hollywood. In 2018, she co-star in the Marvel famous movie Black Panther. She has starred in several movies and several roles which has earned her different awards.

Personal Life
The Black Panther actress opened up about her struggles with depression. She told Vanity Fair in 2018 that her first experience with depression was at the age of 20, she “was in the dark going through so many bad things.” She said her Christian faith helped her overcome the depression. She discovered that after attending a London actors’ Bible study meeting. As a means of recovery and staying true to her faith, she turned down film roles, which she explained she “needed to take a break from acting” at the time.
